I like the center but i don't like the words on the edges(i don't know if that's part of the actual design). it also needs something on the outer edges to make it more interesting.
I plan on leaving the words there until I figure out what to replace them with. I never thought they looked good there either, rather they belong on the box.
I've also yet to think up some sort of border. Either way thanks for the opinion, I really want to perfect this design.
The colour grading looks brilliant on a computer, but I'm not sure how good it'll look having been printed - remember the Shadow Masters? But yes, as it is, without a border it kinda looks like a novelty movie memorabilia design, you know? Artistically very nice, but as a playing card design, perhaps too arty, and too complex.
Yes, I even tested it out on my printer and the results weren't as I had hoped, however it was still very nice just missing the detailed lines. I'm still trying to adjust things so they come out right.
Focusing more on design then detail seems to be the key.
It both looks like and sounds like a Gentleman's club business card. I see this type of flashy, loud, annoying, business card almost every day walking through parts of Tokyo on the way to my Billiards Hall. Don't like them then, and sorry to say, still dont like it now.
I'll work on that. I've already rounded the edges and trying some small designs that might fit in between the border and the center. I thank everyone here for their criticism, I prefer the truth even when I don't like it.
Hmm... It's very pretty, but a little too feminine for me. I think it should have a black or white border, and you are correct; design is way more important than detail (just look at Wynn's). Try to simplify the detail and make the main concept a little more complex.
