Which method of slipshot do you guys find the best? I find that I can get the cards to shoot farther in method 1 but method 2 looks a little cooler and less obvious.

The second method that he teaches is by far the best. As you play with it more, you'll find that you can get the card(s) to shoot a lot farther with the second method. I've found myself having to learn to control how far I shoot it because the cards were flying off the table.
Plus as you said, the second method looks a lot cleaner and better. So my verdict: method 2
