I'm kind of confused but heres what I think you mean. What jobs can be neccessary to have magic.
1) Magician (duh)
2) Comedian
Basically magic is a great bonus for any job I think. Because people always want to be entertained and puzzled.

Just to be clear most serious job's would actually be hindered by Magic in a way... but anything that deals with kids would be great!

Magic can be a huge help in interviews for many reasons, however you need to know where to draw the line. There are many do's and don'ts regarding this topic. However the biggest thing though is just knowing when to stop. If they ask about it answer their question as directly as possible don't go off on a tangent. If they ask to see something show them at most two things one very quick thing and then something a little longer (still quick). And never reach into your pocket and pull out a deck of cards.

However, you can always talk about commitment and patience to getting something perfect before you perform it as a correlation to high work standards.

If you are going to do an interview leave magic at the door, unless that is specifically what the interview will be about.
I have found that magic has helped me in getting better tips at a resturant I work at. Also if you can go by some daycare centers and see if they would mind if you perform for the childrens free of charge. Charity events are also a good starting point.
Later on you could move onto other things, Trade Shows, live entertainment, amusement parks.

I kind of started backward though I did magic in local Boys and Girls Club and then moved to a theme park for one season and now work in a resturant. It all depends on you.

Well, it's always good to have in your resume... the key is to be prepared if they ask you about it, with something to do with everyday objects... maybe a Back palmed Business card which almost single handedly got me the job once.

It the key to making your job pop, and like D ICE R said, it will show you have a good work ethic!

One time when visiting a college, I had an interview. I did a simple card effect. Just one. She seemed impressed. Made a bigger impression than I thought it would because I met her at my school for an informational session on the college half a year later. She did not know I was going to be there. I walked in and she instantly recognized me. The first thing she asked me was if I had a deck of cards with me.

Now tell me that. ;)
