Eh, Boss...May I Get A Hype Please?

Hello everyone!

I've been super busy lately (thus why I've been relaxed on the video reviews). I will probably post a video update of what I have been up to. Some of which includes going to a live penguin lecture of Jeff Stone and I'm actually in the trailer during the card gunshot scene.

What I want to tell you today is I have something cool in the works that I think a lot of you are going to like. So if we could get a little hype train going on, that would be super cool!

Thanks,
-T

Alright guys I'm not going to reveal the best surprise yet but I do want to give you all something to latch on to!

Most of you probably have guessed what my latest project has been so I'm pleased to announce the trailer for my new effect No Pressure! (As seen in my Theory11 creator contest entry).

No pressure is an effect where you can borrow a spectator's empty, capped water bottle and ask any one to try and crush it as flat as a pancake. They are unable to due to the air pressure that is in the bottle. With a snap of your fingers you can magically remove the air pressure from the bottle and anyone can crush the bottle as flat as a pancake. The spectator can also keep the crushed bottle as well. This effect utilizes no switches, the bottle is always in full view of the spectator, no clothing requirements, and there are three very different methods taught to customize your own performance of this effect (each with their own requirements/set-up). It can be performed on the streets or on the stage. I look forward to sharing this effect with you guys soon once I can announce more details.

Without further ado, here is the trailer:

Also my creator contest entry:

That's pretty neat! Looks very clean as well.

Though the science nerd in me couldn't help but think: If you truly removed the air pressure from inside the bottle wouldn't it just crush on its own? ;)

Pretty cool though. I'd probably present this in more of a bar bet style rather than as a demonstration of magic, but that's just me.

That is the beauty of it. Super versatile and great if you need to perform something and don't have any magic on you.

I would personally do a bit more "acting" or to the presentation to remove the air. You can really milk that moment so when you give the bottle back it will make them believe the impossible!

Thank you both for such very kind words!

Rev, you are absolutely correct that an actual vacuum would have the bottle crush upon itself. Eric Ross's Crush accomplishes just that and so I ran this effect by him to make sure all three of my methods were different from his effect. He's a super cool guy and was very supportive of my effect.

I really like the idea of this being a bar bet too. I'm enjoying all the suggestions on how to better perform this effect and can't wait to reveal my surprise soon so that way I can see what all everyone else comes up with.
