You're basically buying a concept with multiple applications on how to use it covered in extreme detail in this 40 page PDF. Also. Jamie D. Grant put together this short little PDF add-on going into more helpful detail on a certain part of the effect. It helps a lot and you get it free with CR. Contact Dee and he'll explain his version which is actually meant to be used with Anate (which I think you have). Then you can contact me and I'll explain my versions on how I'm using this with the card-to-wallet and card-to-pocket. On top of ALL of that, you'll have this super usable concept that's actually fun to use and easy apply to numerous effects.

I'd say it's pretty darn worth it.

    Did I convince you? lol

Of course. I'm STILL having a lot of fun playing around with different ideas and variations. I didn't originally like the standard reveal but it's amazing how much you can tweak this thing. I pm'd Dee for his variation where the card sitting on the table in full view matches the card decided upon. I just love the versatility of it.

    1. I'll put it this way. It's not what you think it is. Neither 'yes' or 'no' could accurately answer that question.

    2. No. Nothing is "gimmicky" at all. If you own cards (which I presume you do lol) you can make the deck. But honestly, the deck is a sort of add-on or convincer. I've been working on versions that don't require the deck at all. Just a nominated number and suit and it's revealed out of the pocket. Quick and simple.

    3. Again, it's difficult to answer this in a simple yes or no response. Crossroads requires strong presentational skills. If you have that stuff down, the spectators will be absolutely sure they had a free choice. You have to remember many people people didn't like this because the selection process was not standard to a magician's preference. Spectators don't know any better and will pretty much accept any process as long as it's presented well.

The thing that makes this stand out from all the other crap I've bought is it's versatility. Adjusting and creating variations of this concept have been the main focus of my magic ever since I bought it. If you ever get it, give it multiple reads. There's a lot more depth and possibility then you can tell when you first scan it, dying to know how it works ( like I did lol).

Yeah his show was pretty incredible. The seats we had were 3 rows back dead center. The "13" and "The Lottery" illusions were absolutely fantastic. He even performed "The Fan" and instantly reappeared right behind us.

Wow that seems pretty minimal. I go from about 7am to 3pm five days a week. lol

Well, I can understand. I've gotten interested and disinterested in magic many times. Good luck with what ever you're going to continue to do.

I got my copy of Crossroads today. Honestly haven't had much time to play around with it yet but I will say that the core idea alone has huge potential for many effects. I'm still thinking about all the ways I can use it.
If your still interested or have any questions about it just ask.
hm.. just workin on some new effects. currently workin on a "do as i do" type of effect. kind of simlilar to election by eric ross except with just one deck. u?

Yeah it really is. Realized I don't really need it. lol

I know. It sucks. But we'll live. lol

Haha I'll tell you about it.

Yeah me too. I barely go on here now because of school. So we have the same deal. The only times I'm on are sometimes during the week and maybe on the weekend.

Hey what's going on man? Haven't talked in a while.

I just purchased the CR deck last night. Can't wait for Sept. 1. Did you ever end up getting it?
    C
I read something about the CR deck that I think you'll be happy to hear.

Here's something that Dee said on the Cafe:

I LOVE Crossroads. So simple and so devilish that I'm currently in the process of kicking myself for not coming up with it! Hats off to the Harris!

One of the things I liked most about the manuscript however was that everything is perfectly scripted so you can see exactly how Ben performs the effect and recognize the strengths of each line used.

I've already set crossroads up and will be sure to run it at the next few gigs, I know it's going to be a KILLER!!

Many thanks again Ben for your work - I've used something similar to Phantini's Delusion deck for a while, but with the Crossroads deck, I can still perform my other card effects!!! Wicked stuff.

    Best,

    D.

    and Ben's response...

    Hi D.

I'm glad you are enjoying Crossroads, and that you are putting it to use. I've been so heartened that so many of those who've had a look at a pre-release copy have ADDED this to their arsenal right away--awesome.

Dee, you bring up a very good point, and one that I've not mentioned in ages. That is, the fact you can use your Crossroads Deck for much, if not all of your act.

Most (but not all) of your regular card effects can be performed, the cards can even be shuffled by the spectators, and you can then case the deck, hand it to someone and begin Crossroads. No deck switch required.

As I ONLY carry a Crossroads Deck with me, and work all my effects from it, I'd become blaze to this rather important feature.

    Thanks again, D.

    Ben

    Speaks for itself. ;)
