    Magic - The Enigma

Great thread :) I definitely enjoyed it, good advice.

    Is magic art?

Of course, I'd love to discuss :) A performing art, to me, involves not only acting, but a whole lot of preparation. This may sound weak, but I feel that if you need to act in your magic, you're not being yourself. In this definition, stage magic would definitely count as a performing art...

    Is magic art?

Do you honestly look at the Mona Lisa and go 'Daymmm brudda!'? It's not as emotionally stirring as magic can be, but art doesn't necessarily mean emotionally stirring. Because artists aren't art, they're people. Theatre is a performing art, and therefore an art. Magic is not a performing...

    Is magic art?

Ha. I'm quite surprised that my vote was the only no. Why Tumble!! Why would you say it's not!!!?? Well I'll tell you my adoring fans: Art is a word used by companies to raise products above their actual level. 'Ooh, that's a pretty painting.' 'No, Jim. No. That there is a work...

What are the good effects in Bobo's modern coin magic to you?

Haha, only 4. Some great magicians only do 4 tricks all up. I'm talking cards and coins. By the way, isn't there are separate forum for coins? Sorry to be the thread nazi :p

Haha, nah man, I can't. I only half own it if that makes sense. I split the money with a friend. Anyway, you wouldn't want it. It's good if you like sitting in your room, placticing unnecessary moves for hours on end, but if you want truly quality magic, you won't find any in there.

Magic product you would NEVER recommend.

Wow, that is one shameless plug :D

Magic product you would NEVER recommend.

The Trilogy by Dan and Dave. Blahh blah, I know, spam me, call me the devil, you won't get me to change my mind. I paid a whole lot of money for a set of 3 dvds and got basically nothing from it.

    What have I missed?

A few of my posts, and a Criss Angel argument :)

    Introduction?

Argh, poor you. You missed the wave of Team Awesome and the common appearances of The Tumbleweed and weekly 1-on-1s. It's still a good place, just.... yeah.

Rate this trick from the Mindfreak!

An argument about Criss Angel?? That doesn't sound like something you'd read on theory11!!
  12. The Tumbleweed

Do you want to fool 98% or 100% of the time?

Hmmm, I can see points to both arguments. Let me get my simile on for a second: Condoms only work around 98% of the time, which is pretty trustworthy, but if it doesn't work... Uh oh. So no one completely trusts them. However, the only contraceptive with a 100% success rate is abstinence...

Does This Ace Design Belong To A Deck?

It does look familiar... It's not the gemaco one, is it?

    Help with Smoke and Mirrors!

I'm thinking these could be the last S&Ms ever. The sound of a 4th edition just doesn't sound right

Lee Asher lectures in Japan (November 2009)

I think you mean: JOHN FREAKIN CARNEY!! I'd seriously consider going to NZ just to meet him again

What does your deck say about you?

I was on a school excursion like a week ago on your street! I should have informed you :p I want these cards :)
  17. The Tumbleweed

    Help in purchase?

Go with stigmata. Do it. It's the 2nd best trick I can perform, and it can be done with cards or no. There's simply no downsides.
  18. The Tumbleweed

What does your deck say about you?

I think the deck which would most suit my personality and performing style would be either ghosts or stingers. But I wouldn't know about the stingers, seeing as I STILL don't have them. Right Prae...????

Yeah, I'm still hanging around, even if I don't post on the forums much. It turns out that somewhere along the lines, I became a bit popular here. So I reckon I should pick up my act and start posting, for the sake of all my loyal fans :p

Wait, Socka Trova actually exists?? I thought it was just some joke. Myself? Well technically I was planning on having a break from magic. But that's just impossible when people keep hiring me. I'm never hated getting paid more. But yeah, I haven't been on much.
