Don't stop doing something you enjoy/love doing because someone tells you to. My parents provide very little support for me when it comes to magic / cardistry. Yet, I still practice and perform as often as I can. As for your step brother, he is most likely jealous because you can do something...
Depends on the deadline for the video submission (my friend is borrowing my camera). I also assume we wouldn't have to do the same flourish either. Other than that, Im certainly interested.
Well, it’s been a busy week for me with Christmas just around the corner, work taking advantage of me and all my free time, and prep for college that is soon to come. However, despite my hectic schedule, I have finally finished my drawing for the contest without a deck of Split Spades...
Personally, I found the flourishes on Motion to be rather easy to get down quickly. However, if you have no flourishing experience whatsoever, I would highly recommend practicing the sybil and the revolution cut before attempting anything on Motion.
I don't have a deck of Split Spades. Unfortunately for me, my parents don't like buying things online, and they certainly won't buy a deck of cards just so I can participate in a contest. But I still plan on entering. I'll just have to use my artistic skills and draw them instead.

I really don't say anything. I find if I present it a certain way, it kills the magic in a way. Instead, I let the spectator draw their own conclusions at to what they think it was.
