I second 'In The Beginning There Were Coins'. Jay goes into great detail and is a fantastic teacher. You'll learn both the basics and real performable material. It's worth it.
The M5 can move any coins that are magnetic or have a steel component. You can move and vanish specially made 'Steel Core' quarters and other coin types. You can also move canadian coins and bunch of other country's coins.
Do you own flow?
I'd have to agree with everyone saying the invisible deck. So simple it allows you to focus solely on the presentation...gotta love it.
I also like thread/loop work. Haunted so-and-so, floating this-and-that, you know the drill.
I would also kick myself if I didn't mention the Nail Writer...
With all due respect to Mr. Zarrow, the one performance I have seen of hime doing it was fairly unconvincing and I have seen the same shuffle done better by plenty of magicians.
Look at amane's post there.
We actually also have an IBM ring that meet once a month. I have, however, heard bad things about that ring and it's members but I might end up joining some time anyway.
Hey guys,
I was looking at the page for 'Thread' and came across this:
Does anyone know anything more about this trilogy or about what's to come?
Sounds interesting since anything by Houchin is good stuff.
Peace,
Rev.
He's not...
I don't think even James thinks he's the best. He is just learning how to publisize like the best. Who do we know from history that claimed to be 'The Best Magician In The World'? Here's a hint - It starts with 'H' and ends with 'arry Houdini'...Harry Houdini. Houdini wasn't...
I ordered this yesterday and should arrive next week sometime.
I was unaware that the gimmick could "run out". Is it expensive to refill? How many performances can you go without "re-filling"?
Sounds like you had a great time. You have met a true great in magic, many call him the greatest living card mechanic...and I may be one of them. I am envious but glad you had a good time. Did you learn much?
What do you want to do?
Do you want to perform some cool vanishes or switches or do you want to make your existing vashies or switches look more "magical"?
Name some material that you ALREADY use. We'll get an idea of what you like and what works well with you personally.
One man's trash is the next man's treasure.
You...performed...for...the...Hoff?
Congrats, mate, I'm glad it went well! Did you give him your card? Who knows? He might want you to perform for him in the future.
Good job.
First of all, Congratulations on being contacted! That's a defininate confidence booster if ever you needed one.
In your letter state your situation kindly -
"I am regretful to inform I am currently unavailable due to Tertiary education commitments but would be more than happy to perform in...
