    Does flourishing kill card magic?

Flourishing doesn't add anything to magic. I used to flourishes between my tricks, but then I stopped doing tricks and started doing magic. Flourishes just had to go. I started getting much better reactions and "That's incredible" changed into "That's impossible". "There is a great...

    Truffle Shuffle?

The DelGaudio Shuffle, or the Truffle Shuffle, is indeed a very good shuffle. I also recommend checking out Benjamin Earl's Grey Shuffle. Personally I do a mix of these two shuffles with a few tips added from the Lennart Green's Green Shuffle. The shuffle is very practical and I literally use...

I have nothing to say that I feel would contribute to this subject. Therefore, I won't be posting an essay.

    Improve Your Mind: Contest Details!

I hoped this would've had some more to do with magic's unique capabilities. There are far more intresting subjects to talk in magic than the simple entertainment aspect. Very dissapointed.

    Anti-faro cards??

Engblom (the creator) himself uses Bikes always, so yeah it can be done with bikes. Personally I get it done better with a slightly worn deck. Don't know if that helps anyone else though, it's very knacky.

    Amazement

Usually people older than you are not ready to accept the fact that you can fool them. Especially if you suggest in any way (even if you don't really mean that) that you might be more clever than them. When they are amazed they might not want to let it show. Some people just aren't comfortable...

    That's very, very bad advice.

    New Website!

Just a couple of suggestions: -Get rid of the adds. They never look good. -Correct the spelling errors (sleight of hand, not "slight" of hand) -Add a page telling about what kind of shows you do. You mention close-up magic somewhere, but that possibly says nothing to your possible clients...

    Magic Club? Ideas...

Honestly, if you have to ask what to do, you are not ready to teach. No offence, this is just how I see it.

    Thoughts on Card Magic

I really don't get your point. Cards are boring, we shouldn't find the selected card, but we should make it appear inside a piece of gum. Flourishes, color changes, your arm, and not getting caught... What I have to say is that card magic is not boring. There are so many things you can do...

Why I don't perform card to wallet anymore.

As mentioned before: A quick thought on this particular trick: Here's something you might want to try. Do your card tricks, and at some point ask someone for a couple of coins for your next trick. Ask him to take his wallet out and hand your cards to be shuffled to someone else. As he is...

    Stage/stand up show

Magic shouldn't be something that you just buy. I don't like that kind of approach. My advice would simply be to do your best piece of magic at the end. Not the one with the coolest sleights and most visual color changes, no (my finale for example is based on a double lift). A simple powerful...

The fallacy of the bottom deal...

If you're stacking during the shuffles then why wouldn't you just stack all the way so you wouldn't have to do any false deals after the stacking procedure? The point of dealing seconds when you don't have cards where you want them to be is to control desired cards as they show up during the...

The fallacy of the bottom deal...

Steve Forte refers to the bottom deal as "the grand-daddy of all the gambling moves". He is the best in the world when it comes to gambling moves. Erdnase mentions the bottom deal as "the greatest single accomplishment". Still you're saying that second dealing is better? Shuffle a couple of...

The fallacy of the bottom deal...

The problem with second dealing is that you don't know what cards are going to other players when you're second dealing. You are very likely to lose some important cards as you're holding back, because once you take the card to deal it, there's no turning back. Bottom dealers can pretty much...
