    Mercury Card Fold - Timing?

Well that and unless you are performing in a super quiet location (which most restaurants are not), you shouldn't have anything to worry about. You just do the move when they think the routine is over. Then you bring it back to the box and do whatever presentation you want from there.

    Mercury Card Fold - Timing?

Here is what you do. You bring out the Clarity Box right before you perform, you tell the audience that this is the bomb under the table and you will deal with it later. You then go on to perform whatever you want (thought I would suggest doing something like Card to Impossible Location, just to...

    Mercury Card Fold - Timing?

David Williamsons Torn and Restored Transpo uses the fold as well. I think he just does it the move when all the heat on the card on the table. I'd have to reread the book and watch his Penguin lecture again to see when he times it. The other thing you could do is try to learn how to do the...

    Table hopping close up magic

I would suggest taking it a step further and rather than having quick tricks. Try to look for routines that build into each other smoothly. Something like ACR to Wallet, or something that has 3 phases in it. This way you avoid the situation of becoming the cliche of saying "And for my next trick!".

    Vapr at school?

This reminds me of seeing people buy Pure Smoke and "Smoke" by Alan Rorrinson, then bringing them to school and complaining about them being taken away or broken. I would suggest you leave your expensive stuff at home.

    Table hopping close up magic

From your post it seems you just thought of the idea. So I wouldn't try to jump right into it yet. But here are some BASIC routines (which are better than quick tricks.) Learn a decent 3 phase ACR (either ending in your wallet or in your pocket. Though, if you can load a card into your pocket...

    Fundamental moves

The Art of flying under the radar. If you fool people into believing you are clumsy, then you can use that to your advantage when performing (Passes, Palms, Steals, loads. etc) and they will have no idea how you were able to do anything.

    The invisible deck is dead?

Find a new audience. You most likely performed it for friends and they will often be the toughest audience ever. Because they know you and because they are likely in high school/middle school. So you are pretty much performing for people that are constantly trying to out do each other in some...

David Blaine Real or Magic Discussion.

I say let the guy be a copy of David Blaine. It' not really effecting you in any way shape or form.

    Best book of card effects

Mastering the Art of Magic by Eugene Burger. It may not be loaded with knuckle busting sleights and new moves, but the routines that are in it, are very good and doable for most people with basic sleight of hand skills. Plus in a lot of them, he teaches you HOW to misdirect the dirty moves and...

12 Ways To Frustrate A Magician

This same thing can be said for bands or any sort of entertainer. "You get play guitar all day, while I have to work a 9-5 job." You get to do (insert career) while I actually have a job.) etc etc. It's just very insecure people.

    Close-Up Standing Ovation

It's most likely a Serbian thing. I'm pointing out how it's much easier and better to just get them to applaud while SITTING down. It takes less energy and is a much quicker route than having them stand up for you. Like Steerpike mentioned, why go through all that effort such a small payoff. You...

    Close-Up Standing Ovation

I don't see the point in having people get up and give you a fake standing ovation. Specially in a restaurant or bar (where people are drinking or trying to enjoy a quiet night out.). It's enough that you have them laughing and enjoying the show while sitting down. That right there is pretty...

    Close-Up Standing Ovation

Nope, my point still stands. Why would people want to stand up and give you a little golf clap, when they can just give you a golf clap while sitting at their table?

    Close-Up Standing Ovation

The problem with it doing it in a restaurant is that usually people don't WANT to have to stand up and applaud you. They have gone out to have a good time and to relax. The standing ovation MIGHT work if you were a stage performer for obvious reasons. But at a bar, restaurant, etc.. It just...

    Close-Up Standing Ovation

Usually when you are performing for people in a bar or a restaurant or standing gig. The most they will do is applaud or laugh a lot. And in those types of situations that is really all you want from them. A standing ovation would be a bit ridiculous in close up magic.
