I am having huge amounts of fun with the material in This Way Up, so at the moment it is my new goto effect or effects if depends how you read it. Many many variations of the OP and ACAAN (including The Berglas Effect) A strange demonstration of hypnosis and CMR.

Word Force (Help)

The first question I have is do you need to know the word before or after the spectator has selected it. Ie is it important if it is a specific word or is it just important that you know the word sometime within the perforamnce.

Other than this should be in the card magic forum, the DL and TC are far and away the best colour changes. As far as in response to your questions; Favourite to perform: either TC or my variation on the paint brush change. Best reactions: either TC or DL in the spectators hand or on the table...

new book test effect? ungimmicked

It sounds similar to the Spelmann idea, one thing I would remove though would be the hat, use a nice crystal bowl or even the plastic that looks like crystal. Placing something in your hat looks very unprofessional. All in all it is a nice idea.

I have had a bit of experience using My Word and a few other variations (Spelmann's and Cavilli's are both amazing). I would not mind hearing your thoughts on the effect as it is a very clean and direct book test, to begin with.
