Thread Release Party : Nov. 22nd - Carmichael, CA

Hey guys, not sure if this is common knowledge, but a friend asked me to post here. On November 22nd, there's going to be a Thread release party at Grand Illusions in Camrichael, CA. The Houchey master is going to be there. And cake. Yay. EDIT:Steve has just informed me that the date has been...

    cherry control

As QbanLinx said, it can be found in an older issue of Penumbra. If you are patient though, Dan and Dave will be releasing it as on On Demand sometime in the near future. David

THREAD by Wayne Houchin - Teaser Video

You guys have no idea. I've seen this performed live 3 or 4 times, and it still amazes me. Not sure if I'll pick this up, as it isn't my type of magic, but I recommend it to everyone else. David

    Bicycle Tragic Royalty Playing Cards

Agreed. They do have a funky lil' smell. David

    Bicycle Tragic Royalty Playing Cards

Blah, these cards suck. Weirdest finish ever, apart from Vodkas. David

For me anything chill. I'm really into Vampire Weekend, Lostprophets, some stuff I can't remember right now. David

    Reversing the bottom card

That's basically a half pass. David

    Most agrivating flourish?

Tectonic Verb is definitely hard, as is the beginning of Pandora. It just isn't working for me. Overall the most frustrating flourish for me would be the pressure fan. Getting it smooth is so damn hard. David

    Frozen by Adam Grace

I think Alan waves his hand over it. I could be mistaken though. Adam's idea is pretty old, it was on his website a few years back. David

    Reversing the bottom card

Half pass would be the best choice in that specific situation. As somebody said before me you could modify the handling so you could reverse it in a different way. David

    My Zoso Change

Sorry, my outburst wasn't really called for. I was just a bit wound up, but I still stand by what I said. David

    Christmas!

I probably won't ask for anything magic related, maybe some cards and a DVD if I'm really that desperate. I'd rather have some Xbox 360, some new software, or clothes. Money never hurts either. David

    Reversing the bottom card

Haha thanks for the reference. Yes, I do teach a method to reverse a card on the bottom. In its simplest form it is a reverse half pass. I can't explain it here, but it's a lot easier than a normal half pass in my opinion. If you have the card on top of the deck, I prefer to use an Ego/...

    New Video

Not bad, just work on your speed. Business must have been pretty slow that day for you to film at work, huh? Just some advice: you're gripping your Sybil wrong, but somebody already corrected you. Also, in the second video you did the same cut about 5 times in a row. I kind of lost interest...

    The Queens

It's not necessary, but it's not uncalled for either. Basically all you are doing is an all around square up, which is something I always find myself doing while playing with cards. You just did something to the cards where they spread a bit, so you have every reason to want to square them up...

RIOT by Dan Hauss - Details & The Dizzle - Friday, October 31st

Tonight is the 24th, so this 1 on 1 will not be released until next week. Kind of disappointing. David

    Guardians sold by USPCC/Stores?

I doubt it, they're just going to be another cool looking deck of cards to most people. Now, if they started selling their DVDs at Walmart and Target I could see some beginners starting to find the site. David

4 questions 4 all the magicians here.

    1. I got into magic about 3 years ago when I was surfing the internet and found a website called Ellusionist. 2. My biggest influences are Daniel Garcia, Ricky Smith, the Bucks, Wayne Houchin, and a few underground artists who have yet to be exposed. 3. Pretty much everybody I named above...

October 2008 :: Applying Your Skills

One of the biggest things I've got out of both magic and flourishing is both physical and mental strength. My reactions have actually quickened because of the constant hours of playing with my cards, and oddly enough I never drop things. Take my phone for example. It used to be I would keep...
