    Some deceased magicians have people who retain the rights to their stuff. If it has been previously published anywhere then it should be fine so long as credit is given.

    It's good to have a direction or fondness for a type of presentation as it will focus your material better. Just be careful not to go overboard and become a cartoony version of what you want to be. Be whoever you are.

    S.A.M. Convention

    Not bad. As a local the hotel location kinda sucked but it was good for out of towners. The close-up show was pretty boss (Yann Frisch killed it) and John Cassidy on the last gala show was great. SAM is a bit more of an old timers con tho'. Not as many younger folks as at WMS or IMX.

    I am a big proponent of don't sleep with the help because very few people can separate business and personal feelings from each other. Some can make it work but it's not easy (especially when yer young). If yhou are putting more in than you are getting out, step back and re-examine yer situation.

    Agreed. Slow it down. I have a force I do and the slower I go the better it looks. It's PAINFUL to go so slow because as magicians we are used to doing some things super fast. You just have to force (I made a funny) yourself to do it. I'm not gonna assume how it works but as you slow it down...

    The initial idea was to only produce 100 limited edition sets but then money stepped in and they made more to sell thru murphys. This is a poor business practice and not their first one.

    They usually just want to see commitment and some sort of proficiency HOWEVER if you do not feel you are ready it's better to wait. Go in when you are confident in your act and material and kick em in the teeth.. magically that is.

    I played with this gimmick a bit back and found a couple ways to make it better and clean up the handling as well. It is an interesting idea, but the motivation for it is going to vary from performer to performer.

    If it's something you use or will use then it doesn't matter if it's 20$ or 100$. You can't put a price on usable material. I think the effect is worth it and with a number of the touches me and my friends have come up with it's worth ten times that.

    I do see a common thread of prolific creators are not the best performers. It's very odd but that's the worst I can say about them myself.

    Most of the kids who post comments on videos are just that.. kids. (And that's the nicest way i can say that on here). Also, he didn't use Dresscode in that video. Feel free to roll that around in yer noggin.

    Entertainment Value

    There is a HUGE difference between entertaining and magic. Magic is inherently not entertaining in the traditional sense of the word and at the end of the day people would rather have a good time than be fooled by some schmuck in a suit.
