    Smoke Question

Hi Crimson - I was thinking the same thing in terms of keeping it for practice. Yeah I've heard that it's about 150 puffs but unless you're keeping tracking it's easy to not know where you are in terms of the number. So from what you're saying you'll notice that the puffs get less thick?

    Smoke Question

Hey guys - For those who have Smoke, quick question: How do you determine when to replace "the thing"? I'm not taking about the recharge, I'm talking about the piece that you will have to eventually replace. One thing I sure hate to do is have it "run out" during a performance. Thanks,

What do you do when a heckler does this?

From an overall, social awareness perspective, what Rick said is good advice; you should always try to perform for the males in the group first. Without going into too many details, this is social awareness that has many advantages. On your situation, first of all that's not going to happen...

    Problem with Marcus Eddie's Stairway

It's one of those things that you just "get" with more practice. It's almost like you get used to "catching" or "hooking" it before it slips off. Chances are you're moving the fingers either too far or too slow. The motion to let it slip off is very small, smaller than you think it should...

WH's T&R on sale. Limited to 100. I bought mine!

I've been to one of Wayne's lectures and seen him do this, it's a fantastic effect. I'm one of those who hope he does not release this to the open market because it's too good of an effect to be over-exposed by magicians who aren't serious about their craft. That being said, I can certainly...

Peter Eggink's Cased - and why I think it's rubbish

Wow...that's a whole lot of discussion over something fun and meant to be an attention getter. We're doing magic, we're not doing complex open heart surgery here. Why does everything have to have such deep meaning as to change someone's entire belief system? We sure take ourselves too seriously...

Magic now:: What has it become?

Even those of us who try to stay above the "bubble" are guilty of this at one point or another: we fall in love with a move and we dedicate months to it only to be disappointed that the audience didn't appreciate how much work was put into the trick. The basic problem is that magicians forget...

Kids copying me and messing up my tricks.

I agree with this sentence, William. And those skills are a byproduct of the Social IQ that I was referring to. If he could do those things he would have the social respect that we're saying he is lacking. As for us passing judgement based on his original post; did we make some assumptions...

Kids copying me and messing up my tricks.

I hope you fellas see the difference. Someone that understands social dynamics illustrates it the way Steerpike just did. The "you don't know me/him/her" argument shows immaturity, naivety, lack of experience, social ignorance, or all of the above. I don't need to know the OP's favorite...

Kids copying me and messing up my tricks.

I agree that book contains a lot of very useful and practical applications to achieving social competence. Read that book before you pick up another magic book.

Kids copying me and messing up my tricks.

BlueSpade - I hate to break this to you, but from the responses I've read so far, everyone that has responded isn't giving you the right solution. So far what I've read is advising you to do different types of magic, read more magic books, get people to know Joey is the big bad bully, etc...

A Little Mistake That Can Ruin Your Performance...

What an excellent point, Luis. I never quite thought of it that way even though most of us who have some experience always try to bookend our performances with the strongest effects; open with a great one, close with the best one. But what you said is so true, it's a let down for the...

    A Key Ingredient for Success....

....never being afraid to change. http://vegas4visitors.com/shows/detail/cirque_believe.htm This is the why the man has achieved such success. Copperfield did this after either his 3rd or 4th television special as well. He didn't like the direction his image and his reputation was taking...

my sealed sentinels box is yellowing

Those are rare and special Sentinels; only 1 out of every 5,000 printed. You're the lucky one, hold onto them, they're worth at least a $100 on ebay right now.

    Holiday Contest Scratch Cards

You should keep it and hold onto it. Since it was an oversight, you're the only person that will most likely have that ticket. That makes it rare. And as we know anything rare will mean it will be worth something one day. Just hold onto it and you'll be able to sell it on ebay for $300.

    Deck One

For that very reason is why companies are smart enough to pump up things like Brown Wynns, White Cents, Black Ghosts, etc. They're not any different than any other cards, but they know guys like you think like that and you spend money only when the words like "rare" and "limited" are attached...

    Mr. Bayme, please answer

That's just nonsense, Casey. Makes no sense whatsoever. You should tell everyone when is the best time so everyone can order at the exact same moment and crash your servers. If that isn't a Merry Christmas I don't know what is.
