    Presentation vs. the actual effect

Well if you are so good do some video of you performing the bulk of the material from "By Forces Unseen!" Her is a kid who did it. Great technique.....no presentation! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F0wxinoS4eI

    Most Classic Deck?

well Stingers are about the exact same card as the EATCT decks. The design is still pretty simple. The old grey backs I liked better than the new red ones but same basic design.

    Presentation vs. the actual effect

haha I think a court Jester would need excellent presentation! Otherwise it is "Off with his head!" In my experience the more baffling the effect(from a magician eye at least) the more technically difficult it is to perform. Then people fall in the trap of spending more time just getting down...

    Most Classic Deck?

I have to agree a bit with Wyatt. You are trying to combine the word "Classic" with decks that work well with modern flourishing. The problem is that modern flourishing(XCM, Cardistry, or whatever you want to call it) is just a little more than a decade old. Most of the true "classic" designs...

    Spectator guesses who's dead...

HAHA....Right because taking a cheap shot like that proves your acting mature. To the point, It is just that way it is. Got nothing to do with trying to prove a point or prove I'm right. It is a point grounded in reality not obscure debating tactics. And yet some of those same 12 guys are some...

    Spectator guesses who's dead...

Sorry Craig....You are the one who missed the point. The point is that the common use of the word is basically someone who reads minds. Having as few props as possible...I'll cede that point. But to the other nitpicky, who is, who isn't details. Nope. A mentalist reads minds. That is becoming...

    Optical Illusions

I really Really LOVE Lee Asher's Losing Control! It is a card sleight that is based almost entirely on an optical illusion. Now that probably isn't what you were hoping to illicit. Sounds like you are more into stage illusions. You should really try to dig up anything by Guy Jarrett.

    Magic Contests... useful or not?

Very interesting question. If I am reading your intent correctly I think I basically agree. I think the process of develop[ing a competition act can certainly help you to become a better magician. And winning one certainly could have some career perks. That said, I doubt it is a substitute for...

    Spectator guesses who's dead...

Well I won't deny that you definitely have informed and interesting views on the topic. It is always fun to pick your brain and try to siphon off a little bit of your experience. That said, as I suspected, it appears that the biggest point of dispute is in definitions. I really wouldn't have a...

    Farro shuffle applications

There is a ton of work with memorized decks. Gambling applications are nice as well. You can stack a two or 4 hand poker deal. If you can do a one handed faro Darwin Ortiz has a really nice one handed poker deal. It is really limitless. If you get into shuffle work you will really begin to see...

    Spectator guesses who's dead...

Ehh...we may be drifting off point but that is how conversations transpire in the real world. It is only in the awkward confines of "Forum Rules" that people make hay over that. If you are uncomfortable with that you can start a new thread. To your response, my overall point that you were over...

    Elegance or Sloppiness?

I think that is fair. Ultimately I think character is the most important starting point for determining your style. But for most of us, who may not have a particularly strong character one way or the other, simply being as natural as possible is probably the best path. So the ultimate answer to...

    Daniel Madison's Anthology

Just explore and have a good time with it. He is full of good ideas. If you are looking for something in particular I might get more specific but barring that, just enjoy it!
