Questions about Theory 11 Decks (Particularly Star Wars)

Do you mind me asking why? The only reason I haven’t bought theory 11 cards as my go to cards is this very reason. I do table work and table faros are a regular item on the agenda. I’ve had a few decks over the years that were traditionally cut but it became clear it wasn’t of interest to T11...

Shuffle speed and variant control speeds.

Great question, I think a part of it is just the nature of the educator. My learning path came through Forte, England and others like them that have the speedier approach and others take a slower approach. I personally think the faster approach takes a certain level of skill...

    Theory11 Hollywood Roosevelt Deck?

I suspect you may have missed the subtlety in Lyles post, John... He knows full well what you have your hands on. sadly, I’ve never stumbled across a new theory 11 deck in the wild. Australia doesn’t get as much card love. but if I were you, I’d be putting photos of it everywhere. Figuring...

    THE (Your) Shift

MohanaMisra, Great questions! I’m the second kind. I did a few gigs during uni/college and I have occasionally done something here or there however, I realised quickly that my passion for performing was outweighed by my interest in practicing and learning the craft. I would watch others...

Fair enough. Not that the current lineup isn’t incredible, it is! I just have a soft place in my heart for traditional backs and simplified designs. BB

How does Richard Turner identity cards? / (when someone else shuffles)

I’d recommend you start with some of the terms people have mentioned above. You might find them, intriguing.... Try using Denis Behrs Conjuring Archive for titles you can reference. BB

How does Richard Turner identity cards? / (when someone else shuffles)

One can make some assumptions of the techniques he’s using. Most are out there to learn but you’d need to know what you’re looking for. I have seen him do things that floor me though. It’s a good feeling and in Turners case, I’m happy with that. BB

    Up the ladder shuffle tips

Well, it’s an assumption given he does an any four of a kind called for immediately after. he could be doing a half deck control of high values and legitimately stripping the other half or even just a partial up the ladder into a real strip. Honestly though, both Forte and Jason England do...

    Up the ladder shuffle tips

I’d happily record it but honestly, I pale in comparison to Steve Forte. I’d watch that video of his on the previous page and take in what he does. I think he does an up the ladder somewhere around the 17 second mark. Likely does a bunch more of them too. BB

    Up the ladder shuffle tips

very much so. That video is actually I little slower than I would usually perform but is a little easier to see the sidejogs with it slowed down. Speed takes quite some time to build up to. Take it slow until you have complete confidence in the actions. I mentioned this on another post I...

    Up the ladder shuffle tips

GPS is a brilliant investment and worth its weight in gold. The benefit of the Turner DVDs is that he actually teaches the techniques though. Once you have a reasonable grounding with card work, moving on to Fortes work won’t scare you quite so much. BB

    Top change help.

Probably the best advice would be to slow it down a little to analyse what’s causing the hang up. Once you have that, start bringing it back up to speed.
