51 Seconds to Impress

I'll probably be auditioning for a job as a magician and juggler at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, the problem is that I have to cram both skills in 90 seconds. I already know that the juggling will take 39 seconds exactly and that leaves me with 51 seconds to impress, any ideas for the magic?

I have enough money for a couple decks of Bikes, and wouldn't mind buying an Invisible deck, but I don't think I can wait for it to ship here. (I really don't want to pay the extra shipping for over night delivery) I already own some sponges and can pull off a nearly flawless routine with those.

Please tell me some strong routines. I have an idea for a prediction/acr routine that seems good, but advice is nice.

51 seconds? invisible deck might take up most of that time.

If this were me... and I wanted to showcase both juggling and magic in 51 seconds. I would juggle balls then do some magic with the balls... before or after the juggling. I wouldn't wasted time putting the cards away etc...

Give them the deck to hold do the juggling then say name a card then do invisible deck.

Why not a quick card maniputalin routine? As you put the balls away, you can load the cards for the productions.

Good idea, except for the fact that manipulation is not my strong suit. I've got a few fans and cuts. The production of the deck sounds like something I'd do, maybe i'll palm it while juggling and drop a ball, replacing it with the deck. Then go into an acr or ace production.

I would do a flashy four ace production (if you know one). Also, if you have any ball manipulation skill that would work well, ( you could make a quick routine that involves vanish/reappearances, etc.

I would agree here, a flashy ace production would be good. Maybe Thunderbird, or Real Time. It shows you know your stuff in very little time. If not that, try to do something that's short(duh) and visual. Something involving a color change maybe. I only say that because those types of effects are short. If you can fit in something else, then do it.

First ask for two 90 second blocks for your juggling and your magic as seperate forms of performance. This will hopefully show that you take both of them very serisously. Second you want something quick and visual for them to remember you by, however what is more important is show that you can connect with them. If I am at a resturant and someone wants to show me magic I am all for it and I even try to distant my knowlodge of sleight of hand to enjoy the performance. Remember they are going to be watching you as if you were working for them and what experience you can give to their clients. Whilst I am a huge fan of orginality if you are in a jam steal something from Michael Vincent his 2CM is the best I have ever seen and his Brainwave or Invisible card amazing for lay audiences.

Thanks to all of you for posting great advice. I like all the ideas here and will consider all of them carefully. I'll let you know how the audition goes and if I get the job (if I can find this thread again).

Why not juggle cards? Then do some magic with them
