Okay guys, Penguin Magic has this book free with all orders over a hundred dollars today, and i was planning on making a big order soon, but i have a question, i don't consider myself ready for strong magic by Darwin Ortiz yet, but would this be good to prepare me for reading Strong Magic?

Strong Magic in my opinion is a beginners book. It is perfect for improving your presentation skills and what not. There are not many books that I would advise you read before this with the exception of the Fitzkee Trilogy, and that is only because it is a classic, not because it is an easier read.

I feel that Beyond Secrets, regardless of what level of magic you are in, is a REALLY helpful read. It contains a LOT of theory and a lot of ideas and concepts that may help you (as I know it helped me).

As far as it preparing you for a book like strong magic, there is no way to answer that question. Some people prefer different books, some none at all. It all comes down to the fact that both Strong Magic and Beyond Secrets were written by different people, with different performance experiences, who have different thoughts on magic. You may hate one and love the other, or vice-versa. Neither will prepare you for the other, but both are beneficial in the study of magic.

Plus, Beyond Secrets is free. :D

I have to agree with RediSpades, Strong Magic is perfect for beginners.

It's also perfect for seasoned professionals.

Strong Magic is a great book the second and third times around, I try to read sections every month or so and will probably re-read it again soon (been almost 6 months since the last time) to see how far I've come and see what new information I can put into my more recent effects.

I loved Beyond Secrets! It's a great read that covers the difficult part of magic, as in the psychology and performance. Sankey gives great advise on everything!

Do not pass up that book, it is a must have and a very quick read I may add. It is one of my top 5 books that I have out of about 25 that are in my library. Sankey provides a ton of valuable information in Beyond Secrets. I ordered my copy when he did a special and got a 2nd copy free for a friend. Sankey signed both of them.

Again, this is a highly recommended book. I would not steer you wrong.
