I know Doug Edwards. He is based in NYC and is a very knowledgeable magician. While I do not have this book, I will say that every time I have sat with him as been a productive experience. His technique is very good and he knows a good move from a bad one.
I know it doesn't say a lot about the book (great magicians have released awful books) but Doug is the real deal - a consummate amateur who has pent his life studying the art, but with an eye for the practical and interesting.
