Dan and Dave Live performance

Just asking a question. I have the Trilogy Discs and have heard some say some of the tricks aren't well for live performance just video shot with a right camera angle.

I would like to see Dan and Dave perform these tricks out in the streets with "real" people not just at magic events or videos.

Like a David Blaine out in public.
What do ya'll think

This is quite true.. I've also noticed something dodgy that they've done with the editing which makes the 'camera only' idea all the more true.

So i agree, would be excellent to see it being street tested.

edit: this editing thing is on the Tricks part of Trilogy

Dan and Dave are not professional magicians and do not regularly perform for people. I believe they just perform mostly for friends, family and other magicians.

I would not want to see Dan and Dave performing street magic as I think most of their effects are completely inappropriate for this setting. It would be nice to see them performing in a cafe or a bar which would be more appropriate although I can't say i'm that bothered about even seeing them in this setting.

The effects cannot really be performed for a large audience, I probably wouldn't perform them for more than 3 or 4 people at a time.

If you were looking for practical effects with great angles that can be performed in any situation then you should not have bought The Trilogy.

hey guys, we're all magicians here, we can probably think of ways to adapt these tricks to our environment. Maybe use a different sleight of hand or card change, etc. For example, for twinsplit remix, u can use the paint brush change (or w/e its called) which is a more angle-friendly change.

these tricks dont work well in "street" situations.
its more of a calm, sit-down kind of place where they work.
but they're not just for the camera.they do work for real people.in the coming weeks ill post a video of me or another magician i know to perform these tricks live.

I would love to see that! I guess thinat's why I like Michael Ammar so much he does live performances. They may be the same audience member, but those tricks on Easy to Master Card Miracles, I've done in person with people who never saw a magic trick up-close live or people who know about card tricks are proven tested.

Dude, all the tricks work for people, you think Dan and Dave would sell something that doesn't work for people out there, Tivo 2.0 is an angle sensitive trick but it works .... just get the deck under the eye level of the spectator ...and If people say that Twin Split Remix doesn't work for people then they're trying to say that the snap change doesn't work for people neither ... obviously you are not going to go out there and perform for 10 people, this trick is for a small group ....you just gotta find your angles.

i agree with villanueva.its just about watching your angles.if dan and dave sold tricks just for camera itd be a total rip off.which its not.you just gotta not be afraid to try them.

I don't have the trilogy (still saving) but all the above posts seem to support it.
Also it seems to me the trilogy is worth it, you can use tricks that suit you, the flourishes are great and the everything else DVD looks quality. So I guess just do what works for you.

I know what you guys are saying
But all angle sensitive tricks are like that
The Thing you have to do is position the spectator
Try it,If they don't look cool then just avoid doing these kind of tricks

I'll just go through and name all of the tricks from the Trilogy that I perform regularly.

Hand to Mouth, Subway, Collectors, Hoffzy Ozbourne, Deja Vu, Hedberg's Peak, 69...

That seems like a good chunk. They all work fine, you just have to know your angles and position your spectators accordingly.
