Do they even matter?

Granted, custom cards look incredible. So many to choose from nowadays. Everything from the elegance at D&D, down the underground road of T11, all the way back to the streets of E, and many more.

I have no comment on this topic, but I'd like to get this thread flowing with opinions.

Do they really matter and is it truly worth the rushed effort when printed in limited quantities?

Are they just for fun to keep us entertained with style?

Or are they sometimes just to play cat and mouse with us?

What to YOU think?

Thanks peeps.

I use them just for fun to practice but only ever perform with either Tally-Ho's or Bicycles. Usually Bicycles. Sometimes I use Smoke and Mirror's because they don't look too flashy or fancy, just a it more elegant.

I like to collect things. They're not needed, but I like having them. I do use custom cards in performance at times, but mostly I just use Bicycles.

The custom decks can be used to enhance the mood of a piece. For instance, I have a spirit writing routine that hinges on the design of the Arcane deck.

Black decks might fit better for someone that's projecting a goth or dark image. A white deck gives a sort of clean, professional look. Also, if you design your own deck, that deck can be associated with you, which is branding.

Personally, I have really been liking the image of the 125th Anniversary Bicycle deck, red backs. They have a kind of elegant, antique look to them.

I don't collect unless they're signed. I appreciate the beauty of some of these cards. But I stick with Tally Ho's and Bicycle. This has nothing to do with spectators being suspicious. Because I don't believe in that. They're just too artsy of decks to go through the wear and tear that I'm bound to put them through. If I'm going for beauty and elegance when I'm performing and what not. Tally Ho is my answer.

I personally think they're just for style...at least they are for me. So far I've only used a few E decks (too thick for my liking), Tally-Hos (love them), and Bikes. I really love the looks of Mirrors, and really want to get some Aladdin 1001s.

PS: Of course they're meant for "playing cat and mouse". They're meant for making money, and (hopefully) building a hype:D.
