Double Half Pass - Original?

Hey guys, so I've been playing around with this kickback type effect, and It required me to do a double half pass (half pass half the deck, then their selection). In the early stages of the trick, I did just that. Got a break, half passed the half packet. Then half passed only the bottom card, their card.

I've just come around with the idea of after having them return their card, half pass the deck, and mechanical reverse at the same time. That way it's one motion instead of two.

What I was wondering though is if you guys have ever seen this used before (the half pass & mechanical reverse in conjunction). I personally haven't, so I'm wondering if this is an original move?

Thanks!
Lucas

I'm not completely sure how that would work as they work in the opposite direction.

Unless it was a half pass and then immediately a mechanical reverse as you could do it so that you ended the half pass in position for the reversal.

Yes, thats pretty much the idea, but if you do it the way I've been doing it, you can get the mechanical reverse going as you're finishing the half pass.

Good on you for creating it but I doubt it is original. Magic goes back so far and there are sooooo many publications and things that have been released.

I suggest contacting a Magic Historian if you truly wish to know. You can find one at most any IBM ring and I believe there are some good ones over at the Cafe.

That's why I was asking. I realize that not much hasn't been done yet as far as such ideas go. Much has been done that we dont know aabout (the vast majority of us that is) and I was wondering if anyone here had possibly seen of or heard of such a move.
