You'd be looking at spending atleast $5000.
ok thanks guys
Google it for a PDF. Or buy one of the Conjuring Arts Research Center editions.
Even though an original isn't needed it'd still be coolio to say that you own an original, lol.
If you can find one... I know a guy who owns the Drake edition, but most people I know generally have one of the CARC copies, a Powner edition, or the Ortiz/Vernon annotated versions. Although the GBC Erdnase is somewhat popular, too.
If you want one with correct pages and decent-to-read text, grab the Powner edition. If you just need a text, grab a PDF anywhere online.. It's easily available.
It's very clear that he isn't just looking for the text. I remember reading about the potter and potter auction recently enough i think, also one about 3 years ago that went for a bit less. You need a specialist.
thanks I forgot to look at Conjuring arts
I need a specialist? For what. Enlighten me.
His best hopes are wait for one at an auctioning site (such as Potter & Potter) or post a WTB thread on the Cafe and Genii. But let's argue his main point. If that's the direction this thread will take, it's fulfilled it's purpose.
I was implying that HE needs a specialist to help him find it. An antique book specialist perhaps. Sorry if that was confusing. What you need is a coke and a smile.
A first edition in good condition sold 4 days ago for $975.00. It was going to be an "open" sale but it changed hands privately before the web page could go up.
I know of at least one other that sold in the last 3 years for $100.00. It was also in very good condition. The lady had no idea what she had.
Sometimes you just have to get lucky.
