Fanning Powder Recommendations and Questions

I have never used fanning powder before and was wondering if someone could answer a few of my questions regarding it.

1. What brands are trusted? (I have looked at Amazon and they are selling Murphy's)

2. What is a good price?

3. How long does it last until the cards are worn out again?

4. What negatives are there if any?

5. Is there a best way to apply or are there different ways to apply it?

I don't know much about fanning powder, but I do know it is common to place your cards in a bag and shake them around with fanning powder in it. The seems like it would ruin the cards a little though...
