Faro shuffle with new deck

I've read that one of the steps in conditioning a new deck is to do faro shuffles. But faro shuffles with a new deck are (to me, at least) difficult.

So...are the steps to take to make faros easier with a new deck?

It depends on how the deck is cut. If it is difficult to do a faro facedown try faceup. One of them will work good.

I find that you usually need to wear the deck in a tiny bit before the cards Faro that well. A couple of pressure fans and a riffle shuffle or two should do it. Then they usually Faro as smooth as molasses.
