You can get an actual demo by asking Michael himself, tho I think he did say that this isn't something that works on video. It works best in real live performances. Yes it does use flash paper as well.

How many pieces of flash paper do you use each time performing the effect, like can you cut the flash paper smaller if using the small size flash paper? Or does it require the whole sheet?

From what I remember him saying in an old post is that it uses a pretty small piece of paper.
