Which worked for and against the movie. Overall, I liked No Country..., but a book is a book and a movie is a movie, and some things just don't translate very well between the two.

So true.

And yet so few young people read. I guess the pace at which they read is too slow for their brains to stay occupied.

And I have not read The South...yet.

Rock on!!!!

I think the most merciful thing in the world, is the inability of the human mind to corrilate all of it's contents. We live on an island of ignorance admist the black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage so far. However, one day the pieceing together of disassociated knowlegde will open up such terrifying vistas of relaity, and of our frightful position therein; that we shall either go mad from the revelation, or flee into the peace and safety of a new dark age.....

It's been taken off of YouTube but if you look for it, there's an interview with Neil Gaiman from a documentary about Lovecraft wherein he makes some very interesting observations.

"Lovecraft is rock and roll. The stories stay with you and change your world view like in a rock song. You don't actually believe that we live in a yellow submarine or that Lucy is up there in that sky with those diamonds. But it stays with you and affects you in such a way that the only way I can explain it is that it's rock and roll."

Neil is the king.
