Hard Hitting Effects

Can you guys recommend some really hard hitting magic, preferably with cards, or mentalism stuff.

THings like Paul Harris' Leaf Resotartion, and Derren Browns' Smoke.

BTW, where can i learn those 2 effects?

To my knowledge, Leaf Restoration is taught in AoA. I believe volume three.

Smoke is taught in Derren Brown's Devil Picture book volume 2, dont get to excited about it though since its not completely impromptu

Any effect can potentially be hard hitting. You must MAKE it that way with your performance. I have been able to make some of the most simply effects hard hitting. I have used a simple force and turned it into something that my spectators remembered me for.

Yes, there ARE stronger effects than others, but as magicians, we should be able to take any effect and turn it into something completely hard hitting.

No you cannot. But if you buy the book, you will have a TON of effects that are top notch as well. You can't go wrong with AoA.

You WILL be dissapointed in the method. I feel bad for saying that because it might discourage you from getting the set. The set is so amazing and leaf is not even the best effect on it. You will not be dissapointed if you buy the set. Leaf plays out pretty visually but ending clean is i guess a matter of oppinion, you are not super clean at the end, but not really dirty. I find that you are clean, but i will not perform it due to my performing circumstances and the method and set up is not for me. Smoke is really cool, but you need a gimmicked deck(for the version taught in his book pure effect) thats about 40 dollers. The effect is dirty because you ahve to be seated at a table and its not something you can do anytime. It is like leaf a situation effect that should be saved for special moments.
