Is this possible?

I had an idea for a new trick however i really can't figure out how a method for it. Well its basically a more visual invisible palm. Now in a usual invisible palm, the magician explains about palming and about the "invisible palm", a palm so invisible that you can turn your hand over and you can't see anything. then he put his hand on the table and a card really does appear on the table. Now my idea is this: after the magician has turned the hand over, he holds his hands about a couple inches above the table and opens his fingers. Now when you do this with an actually palmed card, the card would fall from your hand and drop on the table. So I'm thinking, is there a way to do this? Like when you open your fingers a card appears in mid air and drops on the table. I can't for my life think of how its possible but if anyone has any ideas plz tell me. And just so people won't get confused, this isn't an actual effect of mine, i don't even think this exists. This is just an idea for an effect. Thanks!

That's a really good idea and yes, I can think of two methods. Maybe not quite as clean as you're describing, but the spectators would certainly go away believing that they had seen a card appear in mid-air. PM me if you want the details of my suggestions.

This happened once by accident when doing the routine and it literally dropped out of the palm that was just shown empty. Not 100% fool proof though.

hum, if your profecient with the backpalm, you could show both sides of the hand empty, and then simply continue with the sequence. it might be hard, but you couldtry it.
