I just got home from watching Man On Wire...
To jump to the best part of my night... Philippe Petite showed up after the film was over to have a Q & A session with anyone in the audience who wanted to ask a question. It was an amazing experience, he did a little magic, answered some questions, and had a great time.
He is such a funny and witty man i must say.
The film was incredible and if you are into documentary's and would like to see a film about pushing yourself to the limit and living up to your dreams - this is the film for you.
It was serious, dramatic, hilarious, and incredible.
I have a video of him answering my question where i asked "I myself am a magician and i have to ask you because occasionally it crosses my mind... Do you dismiss anything as being too crazy?" He replied "I dont think of anything as too crazy, yes i am not interested in something stupid and dumb, but crazy... no. Nothing is crazy to me, it is at first not thought out enough which is why people assume it is crazy, but with proper planning nothing is impossible... as you can see."
I would upload the video of it but the audio is somewhat low due to the crappy mic in my digital camara.
OH and to answer Magicman384 question, they are only showing it in independent film theatre's throughout the nation. If you go to the website it will show you what theatre's around your area are going to show it, and when.
I leave you with my favorite quote from the movie that he said... Reporter: "Why did you do this? Why did you do something that crazy? You could of died" Philippe: "There is no why. And so what, to be it would be beautiful to die doing something that i loved. Imagine being able to live your last moment doing the thing you love most in the world. That is the only why."
