Mentalism. More than Just Magic

Mentalism is rather entertaining, and creepy at times. Its a great art that can be used in so much more than just a magicial illusion.. I suggest every magician, Marketing, Advertising, Sales person, customer service rep. and Boss should know understand and utilize Basic mentalism techniques. These skills are so much more than just tools to entertain. They can help you motivate, sell products and deal with those upset customers, that feel the need to yell scream rant and rave about an overdraft fee that you would not reverse.(personal experience) I just want to say, even if you are not a mentalist, or even a magician, look into mentalism. It can teach you more than any college degree. And if properly utilized can benefit you not only in your personal life, but in any career you choose to pursue.

I kind of see what Luka is getting at, whilst badly phrased. It's not so much Mentalism I feel but performance theory which naturally lends itself towards Mentalism. Certainly, being able to read what's in a sealed envelope won't help you much.

But things like framing psychological forces - using context, gestures, body language, or other communicative tools that we learn in the process of learning Mentalism, such performance theory aspects are things I use with great success in my day to day communication.

That makes more sense.

If you actually start looking then all of the things we use are being used by others in other places. We just bend them in another way to make them work for certain things.

A good example comes from Car Dealers who often use the same suggestive and forcing methods as Mentalists.
