Old Card Boxes

Everyone has them lying around. What to do with them? Post your creative uses for old card boxes. I discovered that a 2nd Gen or 4th Gen iPod Nano fits perfectly into a box. Also, the clickwheel lines up perfectly with the bottom circle on the back of a box of Bicycles (for the 2nd Gen, the 4th Gen is lower) and it is sensitive through the cardboard. Add some packaging material and some cards for back support, then cut a hole for the screen. There you have it, a handy iPod case.

The touchpad works, you can change the volume/move thru menus thru the cardboard.

I believe there are quite a few tricks utilizing a gaff made from a tuck box. Steve Fearson has one, I think, which is a nice little opener. Gregory Wilson also has one on 'Card Stunts' DVD I think. Check them out.

If it's not for magic... hmm... I unfold them up and make playing card dispensers, and you fit a whole brick inside, so whenever you need one, you slide one out from the bottom Props to Kevin Ho, I believe, who made a post on his blog bout this idea.

Nothing as cool as that. I use them for gimmicks and that sort of thing. I've got half a dozen semi-complete boxes with big holes in places I've cut out.
