Matt Sconce
"The words you speak when performing, change the impact your magic has on a spectator. Imagine having the ability to control objects with the power of your words. This is not an average psychokinetic effect. With just a quiet whisper from several feet away, you are able to make objects fall at your command. The Power Word principle allows you to perform the impossible, knock one object off another without affecting it or choose which objects will fall and which will remain standing."
PowerWord:Fall

My First Thoughts:
I don't know what else to say except WOW. I really don't know how to explain this but this effect is like nothing I have ssen before and the method is so clever, I hope www.papercranemagic.com releases more effects with Matt Sconce.

The Method:
Like I said before the method is so clever and amazing that even if you do not use the effect you will like the purchase because of how weel-thought out the method is.

Gimmick:
Of course there is a gimmick it is extremely practical, and because of how the effect works you are almost guaranteed to not get caught.

Reactions:
I wish I could have gotten a video of this up, but unfortunately I didn't but believe me when I say the reactions are absolutely insane.

Teaching:
Matt goes over absolutely everything there is to know about the effect, and leaves nothing out.

Applications:
There are many ways you can perform this effect which Matt goes over but there is only one version I truly love, and that is the Brandon Williams hook-up.
You walk around with the gimmick set-up on you, and you can walk up to a table and perform the effect right then and there. Where in a few other of the versions you can not do this.

Practicality:
This effect is beyond practical and I do not see why anybody would not use it, unless you do not want great reactions.

Quality:
Nothing wrong here outstanding quality.

This trick personally didn't really appeal to me. I mean sure it's so impossible what you're doing but it just doesn't seem that great. You're making something fall over. That just doesn't seem that magical.

I can see where you are coming from but not only can you make things fall over you can pick what you want to fall over, not only that you can turn around and make objects fall over, leaving no suspicion for the audience.

Sure, you're just making something fall. but if you look at it on the other hand. YOU are MAKING an object FALL. seriously. This is a demonstration of controlling objects with your mind. not with your hands. If you make an object move from one side of the room to another, that's just what you're doing, moving it from one end to the other, not too impossible, people do that on a daily basis. When you can do that using only the power of your mind, that's when it becomes magical. It brings all sorts of other thoughts into the spectators mind. When a spectator sees your ability to make something fall, they won't think, 'Oh, he can make a pen fall over..." their initial thought process would usually be, 'This man/woman can control objects with his mind... hide me" :p. It's about presentation. Don't present it as as single trick goodie. present it as part of your ability. Also, when performing, don't use objects that will fall in a matter of seconds by themselves either :p.

If only I could do it more... I'm lacking the gimmick at the moment.

In my opinion, this is over rated over priced gibberish with a method that's not only not revolutionary, but -old-.

So yeah......this is what I've come to call a Matt Sconce special. But he has a kid, so you should pay him for this level of genius right? to feed his family? Or he could get a real job that his level of talent actually supported.

This isn't a new way of using the gimmick....it's just a way of using it.....

Really.....you may as well just burn the money, or save it up for his amazing coin moving card box for 400 bucks. Well worth it for that effect.

pssh.

Sorry I just feel forewarned is fore armed here, and he may gather a bunch of his buddies to state how amazing his effects are, but this one is just not that great. Sure it might be worth a one on one or something for like 5 bucks, but for the price tag you could get a lot better effects.

Oh and the method for using this on the street, LMFAO. Yah.

Dude you obviously have something personal against Matt I dont know Matt is an extremely nice guy. Sometimes we dont realize how we come across online so maybe you didnt mean it that way. It is a great effect and one that has been very highly reviewed.

I also love Power word: fall. but apparantly, according to Justin Miller, this is The Cloak. I did not see any crediting on the Power word: fall DVd, but I do not have the Cloak either. and I was wondering if this could be cleared up?

Isn't the cloak the rising card effect of sorts? I don't own it... if I did, I'd know exactly what it was without question. If it's the one in the trailer with the wine glass and cards though, it looks nothing like Powerword: Fall.

I was searching youtube for performances of my illusion, Power Word: Fall and I came across this video. It has some comedy, but really shows the versatility of the effect: Selecting objects to fall while others do not, turning away, barriers, and mass falling.

Enjoy!
