As many of you know I was being asked to perform at a a private party with a whole bunch of buisness owners from across new england in a few months. If you haven't already read my other thread then check it out...http://forums.theory11.com/showthread.php?t=15530
Seriously, you have to read this to understand what I'm talking about.

So I called the kids mom today and she was very nice and accepting with me. I called and got her on the phone and let her now that I was the magician. She was really excited. Then she started telling me the info. I will be going to this little club they are renting out on June 12. I know it's far away but they need time to prepare. I totally get that.
So, then she told me that there would be aproximately 40 families there and all of them own buisnes's. She told me that she would like me to entertain the kids for a while if possible.
I let her know that I have a half hour show for kids but that I could easily extend it to forty five minutes but no later than that. She said that it was fine and she would pay me 200$ dollars for that. (That's fine. Money is money and I'm in it just to have a good time performing.) she then mentioned that she had heard that I worked at a restaurant for a while and asked what I did at the place.
I explained that I had done what is refered to as table hopping magic, where I would go table to table to entertain guests as they waited. She then asked if I would mind doing that for an hour or two after the show for the kids. I said that I would loove to as it is a speciality of mine. Close up magic that is. She got really excited and took down my info so she will be able to keep in contact with me in the near future and as it gets closer to the date. She then went on to explain my pay.
She felt that for a 45 minute kid show I would be paid 200$. I thought that that would be fine. For another hour or two of walk around magic she offered 300-350$. I was excited. 500$!!! The she reminded me that many of the families would want to tip me. she said that a couple years ago a juggler, who constantly was dropping things, wound up getting 300$ in tips. She told me that I would most likely get more than that. I was excited and now we have it et up.
More info as it draws closer to the date.
