hey, i was wondering if any of you coin magicians have experience a problem with wearing rings while you perform. I have noticed that occasionally the coin strikes my ring and gives away which hand its in, not a good thing in false transfers. On the other hand it can be useful too. just wanted to know if anybody has this issue or if you all just remove your rings. also, do people who flourish find this a problem at all? i have noticed occasionally when im doing certain flourishes that either my ring or watch can be problematic. ever notice what your wearing can be a problem? any stories or tips?

if ya' like it then ya' should have put a ring on it...

I always take off my rings and bracelets when I perform...It can be distracting for the audience and hard to manipulate/palm things because the rings get in the way or push my windows wider even...sucks but small price to pay haha

But first, I shall have to caress this rusty kettle.

Umm, j, yeah rings can definitely be a problem. It's up to you what you wanna do, you can take them off for performance, but also, if you wanted to keep them on, just make sure you practice with your rings on, so it'll just be another thing to watch out for in practice :)

The worst thing I've ever done is kept a wizard ring on while bending spoons... *Klink* I thought it'd look a bit suspicious to thumb off my ring mid routine, it was a little more suspicious when a spoon stuck to it!

I don't usually wear rings while I'm performing nowadays, though you can get a really good tine bend on some pretty hard forks by using your ring as a fulcrum. Lol Fork bending 1on1 there ;)

Salad fingers is GRIM.

I used to where allot of rings at all times, especially when performing. Added to my character a bit. However I am also a drummer and if you have ever tried to play drums with rings on you know it is like placing the ring on your finger and having someone step on it trying to mash it through your freaking hand.

Obviously for manipulation rings are a no-no. I can just imagine a candle getting wedged under a ring or tossing a dove only to find feathers stuck to your fingers... haha that'd make a hilarious video, though...

The only real trouble I had doing close-up was occasionally I'd get a fricking card wedged under my ring, lift my hand up and... well the card snowstorm is totally a different trick..

Always take off the ring when I perform... And for flourishing, arm spreads and watches don't work. :p

haha, thats exactly what i was having trouble with, the armspread in "sybil in the rain' but yeah, i usually wear a watch and a ring my gf got me for an anniversary, hard to explain to her why i take it off, but i guess i will have to start. it interferes definitely a lot more when im doing coin magic, especially doing a double coin roll, i dunno, guess i'll have to play around a bit more, also great to hear dan chiming in, nice to hear the advice, thanks guys.
