Well, I got my set today. All I have to say is OH MY GOD. I was way in over my head. :P I have only been learning for about 2 weeks. LOL. Either way it is awesome and I love it. I think I have my work cut out for the next couple of years.

I have a question also, do you guys tend to stick to one type of deck while you practice or use as many different kinds as you can? I know some people have their favorite kinds, but being a new I am not seasoned enough to have a favorite kind of deck yet. So is it ok for me to just use the five or six decks I have?

You little stalker!
Woah......... bad move my friend.

I suggest you drop the Trilogy and go learn some basic stuff first. Go get Born to Perform by Oz Pearlman. It teaches all the essential card sleights that you need to know.

Honestly, it is all personal preference. I have nearly 150 decks of cards now, but only one kind that I use on a regular basis. I use the same deck of cards every day until it gets sticky and gross feeling, then I trade it out for another of the same. I usually come back to old decks later and use them again, after they have had a chance to sit and dry out. You may feel that you want to use just one deck. Go for it. Or you may be like me when I started and use as many as you can get your hands on. Go for that too. I have had the ability to invest money in magic, so I did. Others might not, so they don't. You do what you need/want to do, there is no right or wrong answer.

yea hahaha it was more an " I want " not I need. Plus I got a great deal on a sale. I couldn't help myself. But I am working the beginning stuff first. It sure is fun to watch though.

I agreed with MagicShadow9, but hey it's no problem because the Trilogy was actually my first dvd when it comes to card magic. If you are committed of learning this, then it should be no problem, although you may have some difficulty at first glance. I strongly suggest you to get Card College and Royal Road to Card Magic. You will not regret this.

I go againts the tide. immerse yourself in hard magic as much as possible. If you really wanted to be good with flourishes or magic, learn the hard ****. Go over the basics (like mechanics and whatnot.) but dont prolong your stay with the basics. I went straight from Youtube to Brad christian's DVD's (yes, i am sad.) and then straight into The trilogy.

Anyways to answer your question:

I use my wynns for some multi-packet cuts and things that dont relate to fanning (cause wynns cant fan for S"&£T.) Whilst for everything else i use my guardians (they're cool) or Split spades, or just regular bikes.

Don´t buy Card College!!!

when I first saw, just to see that much material I felt like school and I just drop It in a few days because for me the practice, magic and learning has to flow not to be forced or feel overwhelm by a big book

but that´s just me

that is exactly what i do. but i break in all my decks before using them. i hate the feeling of decks that aren't broken in
