All you need to do is simply relax and start to perform formfriends and family. they will give you support and you will feel better around them.

My friends hate magic and my family does too. They don't support me at all. :)

..........

OMG I want to go but now im doubting my ACR cuz im scared theyll see that my bluff pass isnt really half a deck, and now im scared and depressed. im on the verge of becoming suicidal.:(:(:(

I started reading this thread with lot of compassion for the state you are/were in but towards the end you started to irritate me... Becoming suicidal???

There is one big problem with practicing a lot and keeping magic private and that is that you are distancing your self from your audience, laypeople. At the end you loose perspective for what makes magic work..You get scared because you get so educated and immune to magic yourself that you forget that your audience knows very little and will be impressed even with simple tricks.

I hope your depression is over and you can give your magic a new chance and make performing a part of your practice.

well.. with routining, simple is better, the simpler it is, the less likely you are to become nervouse and screw it up, once the spectotors see that you are nervous, then they begin to really watch your hands and stuff..

start off with a few double lifts and forces.. color changes.. top changes... mild stuff, hits hard.

Good luck!

Filth, if your like me, summer isn't the greatest time to perform. I live in a bad location, don't have a car, and other than vacations and hanging out with friends I don't really get to go out and perform. But I keep at it. I practice untill my hands feel numb. Why? Because once summer ends, its school time, which is where 99% of my performances occur. If you can just hold on for 2 months, keep practicing, you'll have the opportunity to perform every single day for new people. Aslo check out adjones' essay on shcool performances, it helped me tons and it should help you too.

No more bulls**t

Senchi I agree..

Damn Filth you are pathetic. Pull yourself together, or don't post this nonsense and ignorance here.
To me it seems like your problem is general lack of self esteem, and therefore you are trying to make the other members in this forum say nice and encouraging things about you. Your problem seems fictive to me because of the lame ass excuses and the far out exaggerations of your mental state.

If this is a serious problem, well, it's your own fault. We've given you the advises you need to make this performing thing only a farce, but Filth - listen to this - YOU have to do something about it instead of just whining.
I myself haven't actually been out there performing yet, and frankly it scares me a lot, but I know what I have to do to make it go away!

I know I've been rough, but it's for your own best interests.
