im having problems on the hacky sack part. what does it mean by the your foot and falling packet should make contact on a horizontal plane and follow through with your foot. and is it possible to do this without messing up.

Have you ever juggled an actual hacky sack? To keep the ball up with the inside of your foot, the ball must meet your foot on a horizontal plane. In other words... the trail of the ball coming down should be perpendicular to your foot/leg, which is parallel with the floor.

It is possible to do without messing up... as seen in the demonstration video
 
As said above it must contact horizontally, this is a very difficult move to get down obviously, and will take a lot of practice. Try using older cards as they will hold together better. Also try using different sized packets until you get a general size that feels good.
