Video Editing

Hello,

Ive recently recorded some stuff- and extracted them from the videocam only to find that they were in .mod files.

Now all is well and good as i can play it back easy- but my video editting program (Adobe) doesnt recognize it.

Ive searched the web, and couldnt find any answers besides the classic 'Change the file name to .avi and see if it works' solution.

Im asking this as im positve that im not the only one here who has encountered this problem.

Oh yeah, i wanted it converted to .avi (or anything that adobe accepts really.)

You might have to find some free video converting software. Just look around on the web. You'll find something.

VideoPad Video Editor is the best video editing software in my opinion. I personally think it supersedes Sony Vegas.

And it's free.

Id have to disagree with you there Enigma, ive had extensive experience in video editing and special effects and the to (afforable) names that come up would have to be Adobe After Effects Professional or Apple Final Cut Pro, although these do cost £500-1000 each :/

But those are good for cheap, low level software and the kind of stuff you guys do

Can you open in quicktime? Quicktime Pro has a convert to .mov option...

Hi,

No, it doesnt open on quicktime. It says the file is either corrupt or unrecognized.
