Hello, I'm going to be ordering Fiber Optics by Richard Sanders soon, and I was wondering which rope do you find best for rope magic? And if possible a link to a uk store which sells that type of rope.

Thanks.

I use cotton rope. Around 8mm in diameter with a diamond braid (not just spiraling around, interwoven. I'm not much of a rope expert :p). They feel real nice when working with them. They do, however, fray quite easily unless you fix the ends with glue or *insert preffered method here*. I'd definetally recommend rope of this type though.

I'm probably going to try for some custom ones now that I've gotten a feel for what length fits me. Sorry I can't be more specific and I hope this post is comprehendable, I'm quite tired at the moment ;).

usually most magic shops - mail order or brick and mortor - will carry "magicians cotton rope" and sell it by the yard/meter. i know there is a company in Canada that sells magicians rope in different colors - or you could buy the white magicians rope and dye it with RIT DYE in your washing machine. i tried it with yellow and it turned out awesome

Just out of curiousity, do you know what this company is called (so I can mention it to my local magic shop), or a Canadian based retailer/website that carries it? (border fees are really taking their toll on me...)
