hey guys!!!! I am currently practicing the moves taught on brian tudor's "Card Sharp" I have been practicing false shuffles, palms, crimps(they are very useful I have to see ways to aply them to magic) and I am currently having trouble with those 2 deal and the bottom deal...


My question is....


Do you use the sleights you know from magic when you are playing either blackjack or poker???

If your answer is a yes, wich sleights do you use????

I Usually use the pass, some false shuffles and palms, whats yours???

If there's no money involved I'll do a few glimpses, top to bottom cuts, then some false shuffles and bottom deal. It's good practice in a laid back game. I might also recommend that if you're into this kind of stuff you should purchase Expert At The Card Table.

I just started cheating at cards. what fun it is!! So far I use a bottom deal, bottom glimpse, and bottom to top lateral palm. I am still a bit nervous when I cheat, I feels the way did when i first started doing card magic. I'm still working on my second deal, tried it out the other day, bought a four to the top to give my self a pair and needed to do two seconds, I messed up and gave it to the second player lol!
I play with money, I have no moral issues with that, I deceive when I perform magic so Im rather comfortable with cheating. I only use my card skills to give me a slight advantage. I haven't made any money from it, but eventually I will. I'm gonna be a card shark!!!

Expert At The Card Table, is a must if you want to cheat, it helped me a lot.

I got interested in summer. I use stacking, bottom deal and false shuffles.. They works well

I would also suggset the 'Vernon Revelations' book, wherein Vernon breaks down and better illustrates the work from Erdnase, with loads of photographs.

As an aside, I sincerely hope that anyone saying they are 'going to be a card sharp', or those that advocate the use of cheating in actual game play realise the implications and possible repurcussions of doing so...

Yeah, like a severe beating. Good advice.

Even setting ethics aside. If your playing for money your going to be watched extremely close. Any minor mistake will be noticed and could cost you dearly.

You may be able to get a few moves over on some high school buddies but at a table where they play for keeps their going to look at it like your attempting to steal from them and that fun "game" wont seem so fun anymore.

I know. I've been playing Texas Holdem in back rooms all over the US for more than 12 years now and when your not one of the "usual" players at the table your every move is under the microscope.

I dont want to sound like I'm ranting. I'm putting this out their mainly for the younger crowd so they know what they are getting into. Many backrooms will let you sit down and play if you have the cash even if your young. I dont want to be at a table in 6 months and see someone get hurt because they were trying to be slick.

Practicing the moves is one thing but activating them in a game that involves money is stepping into a whole different ball park. Be careful.

With friends, and for no money just chips, yeah I'll test myself and my friends to see how much I can get away with... sometimes - it's fun to test real poker skills too though!

Honestly, if you are hoping to cheat at cards using sleight of hand, the only time you will be able to do it successfully is when you are plaing for practically nothing with a small group of friends.

Poker has reached a new high with the introduction of live TV games such as the WPT and World series of Poker. Any serious back room game will require the use of a bottom plastic card to shield the bottom card from being seen, thus making bottom glimpses, bottom deals, bottom to top lat palms, bottom card switches, etc... completely useless. In addition, the game host and regulars at the table will require your deck holding hand to be kept above the table at all times and kept in one hand (as if you were a casino dealer).

That being said, this only really leaves card palming and switching (when you are not the dealer). And unfortunately for the majority of you out there, this is probably one of the hardest cheats to pull off. It takes the most flat out confidence in your ability to do the technique and maintain it cool for long periods of time (it might take several hands before you get the chance to switch the cards back in).


To summarize for you little ones out there. Keep your interest in card cheating where it should be: a side art to magic. Don't think that your magic skills will easily switch over to gambling, and that they should even be used to cheat for money. Not only are you fooling yourself to how difficult it actually is, you are also an ethically / morally forfeit person, and don't deserve to touch a deck of cards.

Here is your problem, this dvd in general. Tudor is no expert at the card table (yeah, get yourself some Erdnase). He could never actually cheat at a game, non of his move would fly. If you want a dvd, I heard "Weapons of the Cardshark" Vols 1 and 2 were good. But seriously, Tudor can't exectue these moves very well, much less teach them.
