Yea cards will never fly with little kids.

Why are you asking now when you are performing in a couple of days?

6 and 7?

Especially with younger people, it's hard convincing them what is impossible. I would focus on visual material. levitation, sponge stuff, balloon stuff, etc... doesn't have to be cheesy, just visual. Mentalism is not the best idea. They spend all day walking into the kitchen and having their mom tell them not to do what they're about to do with the cookie jar anyway so reading their mind is nothing new to them, or exciting.

Okay so I can't beat the conformity, SOOOOOOOOOOO

Stigmata with blood
Eating a long sculpting balloon
Stoping your pulse end with eyes of tears to prove you are okay
Swallow string and pull it from your eye while crying blood
Nail a nail into your nose with lots of blood
Do a do as I do routine while performing the swallowing razors routine. Once again make sure you use plenty of blood.

But on a serious note I need to know what kind of experience you have before giving great tips, oops I am conforming again because there has been many posts on this forum on this subject and someone comes along and explains why we can't give good enough tips. But people still haven't learned to give a well thought out post explaining there knowledge of magic.

Also I need to know your performance style, A video maybe a performance picture anything but a verbal or in this case written explanation of your personality unless you can explain it more then just "I am a myself, or normal"

Not ratting on the poster this was just a note and possible structure for threads that I know will be showing up again later on during the summer.

I say go for it. then post the reaction story... maybe video tape it.

what's that saying? "any publicity is good publicity"

:P

I'm like the devil on the shoulder here.

Thanks for the advice :) i think that im going to go very visual and to answer the questions about the timing ... i know but i just wanted to get some last minute ideas. I dont know about the whole "bloody mess" thing but i may try one or two :) its gonna be two different show times first 6 & 7 yrs. then i think it might be 8-12 yrs. i dont wanna get kicked out early :p but any way all of you were a great help i will definitely do a sponge ball routine , some great color changes, thread, and i think i might do some levetation :) thanks again

Don't underestimate the intelligence of those kids! card tricks will work, but don't make that your act. Hell, Bro Gilbert did LVL$ to some 6 yr. olds!

EDIT:: I can tell you didn't prepare at all, you are going to be in for your worst nightmare because of your lack preparation. I feel very, very bad for you. IMO, you are SCREWED! Good luck

Just dont do more than two or three card tricks. Only very visual, not-too-much-to-think tricks.
And If I were you, I wouldn't make it longer than 25-30 minutes.Believe me , you don't want that.

Thanks for all of your help i performed earlier this afternoon it was great i had alot of fun i did 2 performances that each lasted about 20 minutes the kids were very amazed by simple color changes and a few easy coin tricks:D i think the highlight of the performance was when i performed angle zero :P (i made the corner appear in one of the kids poket) i was really nervous but it turned out great ... i couldve done better but i still got paid so its all good :P thanks for all of your help and support and it wasnt as bad as i thought it would be ....till next time
