Gettin a Job on the Fly

has anyone just walked into a restaurant, to eat. and happen to see or meet the manager and offer to be a magician? or has anyone tried this? because im going to a restaurant tonight and might try this. like dress appropriate and talk to the host or what ever and talk to the manager.
do you think this might work to set up some kind of meeting later on in the week to actually show him some magic?
also wouldn't there be some props to me actually eating there? and not just walking in and asking?

I learned for the David stone's "real secrets fof magic" that a good way to do this may be this.

Go with your friends to dinner where you want to work, and in the meal, offer to do some tricks, you friends will be amased, and the waiters will notice, hopefully the manager will notice too (if the reactions are kinda good) and that's when you can offer your services.

Just one idea.

Have one of your friends tell the waiter to "watch this" after you do a few tricks and get the staff to notice you.
If you're good, they'll get their manager to show you off.
It's happened before.

Ask your friends to act WAY more amazed then they are. And like someone else said try showing magic to waiter's or just doing something magical when the approach.

You never know if you don't try....

That's how I got one of my best dance teaching jobs. I just showed up, took a class and said "Hey are are looking for more teachers?" the next week I was working.

Sometimes just asking leads to many amazing opportunities. No need to think too much or put on a big display with your friends who think your no longer amazing and waste their time. Just be prepared if the manager says "let's see what you can do".

Its a good way to practice a valuable life lesson.
