Swami Gimmick

Hey

I have an undernail swami gimmick (type C) and my lead broke.
I was wondering if anyone knew where I can get new lead from?
Does anyone know if I can buy the sticks of lead and just snap of piece off and put it in the gimmick?

Thanks

try painting stores, I'm pretty sure they will sell all type of pencil leads.

What I do is find an ordinary pencil with the correct Diameter of the desired lead. Then use a razor blade and remove the wood. Just shave off the wood needed for the length of the lead, however I normally shave off 20mm of wood (no pun intended) leaving behind the lead. You can then use that lead for your swami.

Cheap and effective.

I just go to an art supply store; they have a huge selection of lead there (moreso than a store like Wal-Mart, or even Staples, would). :)

I think that with most under the nail writers, just breaking of the tip of another pencil and shaving the wood should suffice. I'm glad that you have an under the nail writer, as opposed to the thumbtip or adhesive variations of the Swami gimmick. It tends to be a lot more flexible in both use and replacing the lead or grease.
