Hi folks, just looking to see if anyone can help with something thats annoying the heck out of me!
I've been learning mentalism and various effects putting a routine together. I must admit im fairly new to mentalism but have read many times corindas 13 steps, annemans pratical magic and purchased many peek devices and generally consumed as much information as i can in order to put together a strong routine. So i figured i knew the gist of most mentalism acts...
Went to see a show called "the asylum" by irish magician/mentalist keith barry. At one point on stage, using no peek device i could see, not asking her to write anything down, he just asked spec to think of someone she's like to marry or go on a date or something. He writes J.R.M on a blackboard behind her and when shes turns around he says this is what i picked up, she says , yes i was thinking jonathan rhys myers.
How the heck??? No peek i could see, no center tear, no impression device!
Also he asked someone to look at a photo and say what ever name came to mind. "fanny Brown" she says, a strange name indeed but of course that was the person in photos name. Im intregued but stumped! Mr Barry has done his job well, ive been thinking about it for ages now!!!!!!!!! What am i missing?
