Ellusionist11?

Hello and no this is not my first post, just a new username.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but Ellusionist is constantly trying to be more and more like Theory11 in my opinion. They have every right in the world to do what they want with their site, but it just seems...I don't know fishy.

Ever since Aug. '07, I've gotten the vibe that they're trying to keep up. It's obviously a business and both sites are competitors, I'm just posting this to see if anyone else agrees with me. No need to get offended, some of you are just too sensitive sometimes as if Ellusionist was some Frat you guys were part of.

And by all means, I criticize both sites. I'm just stating a thought and that thought is simply the following: Ellusionist seems to lack originality and has been taking ideas from Theory11.

As soon as Theory11 was up they started running they're own podcasts and artist interviews. They've created a blog section. Yes I know, many sites have their own iPhone apps but theirs being released after Theory11's and its similar features...ehh okay okay I'm wrong.

But the biggest thing hit me today when opening one of their emails. And really guys, this new section couldn't scream "1-on-1" section any louder, at least in my opinion:

http://www.ellusionist.com/learn-now

Please don't become upset for those E fans out there..for I'm not trying to put them down. Just sharing a thought, as I can imagine many of you may reply: "So what's your point?"

"They can have an app/download section?"

"So what man, huh huh, so what?"

So what? Nothing.

I didn't even know of this 1-on-1 framework until you told me.
Personally, it's not that much of a big deal for me; the fundamental frameworks of E and T11 are so different (although yes, I admit that they each have imitated each other in the past) and they are both great.

I would say don't get caught up in politics man. Who cares? Besides, most sites have instant downloads. Theory 11 isn't exactly groundbreakingly new either. I'm glad E is getting some new stuff into their store.

People just need to learn that all magic sites are businesses, and they make money, cause' that's what businesses do.
The people who run these sites are people to, with families. They need money also. They're not here just to gratify all of us.

Cheers

Penguin has instant downloads, as well. Even Dan Sperry's site has at least one instant download. T11 is definitely not the only site to have them. I say good on Ellusionist for waiting until they felt they could do a satisfactory job with their downloads, rather than opening up the section early with sub-par releases. :)
