Gospel Magic

I have an idea to make Pressure into a gospel based effect. I do not want to offend anyone here so I am simply asking if someone who either performs gospel magic or who is a christian to please PM me so we can discuss my idea. I need a second (and possibly third) opinion.

If quite a few people ask me to do so, I may post it here, but otherwise, I do not wish to start a fight or argument

Feel free to PM me with your ideas. I rarely incorporate religion into my effects, but I am very much a Christian. I would be more than willing to hear what you have to say. Or you could just post it here, and if anyone says something I will just tell them to sit down and be quiet and respect the conversation. If they can't do that, they could go to a separate forum topic, it's just one click away =P

Ok I was thinking about borrowing someones phone and talking about how we are so into our cell phones these days. proceed to blowup a baloon and sayI want you to think of this baloon asyour heart. You see God is calling you. God wants to come into your heart and move your life

Then do pressure and put the phone in the baloon.

Then say now of course you need your phone back (start taking it out) but unlike this phone, once God is in your heart, he will ALWAYS be there through the good times and bad. He will be your savior and when you have God, ANYTHING is possible

I'm not into religious magic, but I think that's a pretty good presentation. You could also try it from a different perspective: Go ahead and make the phone representing them since we are so attached to our phones these days, then use the balloon as a representation for sin and how the deeper you get into the sin, the more it swallows you up and binds you. (by then you'll have the phone fully in the balloon).

Then say, but only by believing in God's power, can he perform the miracle of getting you out of your sin.....then take the phone back out.

This variation will keep you from having to say, "but you need your phone back", which breaks up the aura you're trying to create with your presentation.

and @ b_08...I REALLY like that idea!!!! sounds way cool!!!! just as a clarification, I use "but you need your phone back" or "you need the phone back out of the balloon" as a way to lead into saying that unlike that, once you have God in your heart, he is ALWAYS there!! I hope that makes sense.. lol

Hey RK - yeah that makes sense and I got what you were saying originally - it was well written! I was just saying that by avoiding the use of the word "phone" you are keeping intact the atmosphere that the props are representing. By using the "sin" presentation you can go through the entire presentation without making reference to the name of the actual props. The phone represents them and the balloon represents sin and your removal represents the miracle of God's power if they trust Him.....and you can end with your original line of "through Him anything is possible".

I think the visual of the them (phone) being binded in sin (balloon) will reasonate well with a Christian crowd who is already prepositioned towards those types of feelings.
