Tips on a certain sleight of hand

Hey guys,

LePaul Spread:
I've been practicing the lepaul spread and I was just looking for the tips. My lepaul spread is barely decent, but isn't giving me nearly the amount of length I want it to be and if I try and make it go long, then it falls apart! Could it be that I'm using an old deck?

Hot Shot Cut:
I have also been practicing my hot shot cut. Where to you guys place your fingers before you throw the card out? I scissor cut then right before closing i get my index and middle finger up. then i twirl the card so the card is nearly horizontal. Where should I put my fingers in order to flick it out properly?

Pressure Fan:
Another thing! I have also been trying out the pressure fan. After a while, my deck just kinda... died on me. Do pressure fans screw up your deck, or is it me just over bending and screwing up to much with the deck?

Thanks!

fot the hot shot cut, the thumb is on the deck , pinky in the short end like for the straddle grip, ring finger at the lower right corner but not on the deck, the index finger is just extend and you throw the car with your middle finger ,
i suggest you to cut your finger nails especially when your index finger push the card out, this is the way i do it
for the le paul spread and pressure fan , i don't do it because it's bend the deck too much
but you can learn those , with a beautifull handling of the lepaul spread on the trilogy by dan and dave

alright, thanks! I posted some pics, I understand that my pinky isn't in the back, that's because my hands aren't stretchy enough yet.

Welcome to mac, making my pictures backwards :\

For the hot shot cut, check this short tutorial out:

That should answer the questions about that. As far as the LePaul Spread, I have found that fresh new decks tend to fall apart too easily unless you are using some fanning powder. (My tip, use fanning powder).

Then the pressure fan and LePaul Spread will always bend your deck a bit. Andrei talks about the need for that bend a bit in Genesis, though then again many people have gotten along fine with out it.

Another quick friendly note, you will be able to get a quicker response if your questions about flourishing are posted in the Cardistry forum topics. That is where all the "Cardists" hang, and they would be more than willing to help you out if you have any further questions.
