Happy St. Pattys day to all! Derren Brown said that green decks are the best ones to use as they remind people of money. Not sure how much truth there is to this, but it's a neat theory11 :)

Because money pays for guinness.

Haha, sounds good to me.

I love this holiday! Because my name is Patrick. And I'm Irish. :) Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!

I love it because my brother is literally what a leprechaun would look like if they were real, well sorta... Also he was supposed to be born on St. Patricks Day if that adds to the effect at all, :D.

I don't really celebrate St. Patricks Day. It's a horrible holiday with religious oppression at it's core. Everyone's heard the legends. That St. Patrick drove the snakes from Ireland, but we're not talking about reptiles. Snakes were used by the Druids as their religious symbol, and thus "snakes" also became a derogatory term for the druids. So the holiday is less about reptiles, and more about forcibly bringing Christianity to Ireland.

Not concinced yet? Let's go a step further. What happens to you if you forget to wear green on St. Patty's day? You get pinched right? Oh this gets dark...

Think of the Irish flag... what do you see? three color bands: Orange, White, Green.

Green has for a long time been associated with the Catholic faith. Orange, the Protestants... White is the universal color of peace. Therefore the Irish flag is saying that there should be peace BETWEEN the Catholics and the Protestants.

So if Green is a Catholic color, and you're suppose to wear green on St. Patty's day (a Holiday for a Catholic saint), or else you get punished by getting pinched, basically what you are saying is you'll be punished for being a non conformist to the Catholic dogma.

Now you've been educated... let's have a beer!

Draven is completely right, about the symbolism. But ive never been pinched and i dont own any green clothes. Ive never even heard of getting pinched for not wearing green on st patricks day. That seems to be an american idea. Also, patty would be a female name in Ireland.

Rolf! Way to take it WAY to seriously. Lighten up and crack a Guinness! After all, remember that Christmas was originally about the baby Jesus...and some pagan god before that...now its just about getting cool stuff. What you see here was an excuse for me and some of my non Catholic, non Irish buddies to play around with some really cool decks and listen to the Chieftains!

Well... I happen to LOVE St. Patrick's Day because it is my birthday today as well fellas. No joke. It is my brother's birthday as well and he is 2 years younger than man. Weird I know. My mom used to dress us up as little leprachauns and have the local newspaper come take pictures of us blowing out candles on our birthday cakes. Go ahead...laugh away. Ha ha. True story.
