I'm not sure of the exact method but I do know Andre Kole wasn't very happy with it. He performed it on a special on the discovery channel or something talking about Jesus Christ and asked that no one perform a walking on water illusion for a little bit, I think he actually said a year. Penn and Teller did a special at the time, all about magic and water, and nixed a walking on water routine to honor Kole's request. That same year Criss Angel performed his. If I remember right Andre Kole heard about Angel an wrote him a letter showing his disapproval.
